Thirty 750mL bottles of top-quality wine for $10!
Yes, it is possible.

These wines normally sell for up to $228 -- and at this   price they are a "secret" bargain -- which means that very few people know about the "savings" they can achieve by "making" this wine rather than buying from the goverment-run wine emporium.

But, right now and as long as tickets last, when you support my particiption in this year's Weekend to End Women's Cancers with a donation of $10, you will receive a tax receipt plus 1 of 300 tickets in the Bloor West Winery "wine raffle". (Donate $25 and you will recieve three tickets. Donate $50 and get six tickets ... and so on.)

The raffle prizes will add some great-quality wine to your cellar ... an En Primeur Pinot Grigio white wine or one of two Cellar Classic Winery Series red wines (an Old Vine Zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon). Thank you to RJ Spagnols for its donation of the wine ingredients.

In addition to the wine, Bloor West Winery has added all its winemaking experience plus a set of brand-new bottles.

The draw will be made on July 5, 2012, and winners will be notified by telephone. Please note that each winner must start and bottle their wine, per the AGCO regulations.

Thank you, in advance, for your support.
Cheers!   Judy

Cocktails -- The Next Frontier!

Just as Bloor West Winery helps you enjoy quality wines and save money, you can now enjoy tasty, classic cocktails at significant savings.

LOUNGE wine cocktails taste just like the commercial pre-mixed cocktails that you buy at the LCBO... they just cost you less.

For example ...

Bacardi Classic Mojito (#112938) costs $15.95 for a 750mL bottle ... or you can "make" 15 750mL bottles of LOUNGE MOJITO for just $98. (Price includes everything except refillable bottles -- bring your own or buy them.);

Smirnoff Grand Cosmopolitan (#53967) is also $15.95 ... and LOUNGE COSMO just $98 for 15 bottles;

Bacardi Breezer Pina Colada (#697292) is $9.95 for a 4 pack of 330mL bottles, while LOUNGE PINA COLADA costs just $98 for 15 750mL bottles;

Captain Morgan Long Island Iced Tea (#166066) is $15.95 ... while LOUNGE LONG ISLAND ICED TEA is just $98 for 15 bottles, and

Jose Cuervo Golden Margarita (#54262) is $15.95 and LOUNGE LEMON LIME MARGARITA costs just $98 for 15 bottles.

Other than the money you save, the main difference between LOUNGE and the branded cocktails listed above is that the commercial brands use spirits (rum, vodka, tequila, etc.) as the alcohol base while LOUNGE uses wine as the alcohol base. Like commercial pre-mixed products, LOUNGE adds complex flavours to deliver the true cocktail taste.

But, LOUNGE is more than a drink ... LOUNGE is a state of mind. It is relaxing and unwinding the stresses of the day. LOUNGE is time spent socializing with friends, laughing with loved ones, and enjoying their company.

LOUNGE is now available at Bloor West Winery.  To reserve yours, simply call us at 416-604-8463.

Cheers!

More taste for less money ...

Fuzion Shiraz Malbec is the best-selling red wine in Ontario (419,000 cases in 2009, the latest year for which we have data).

Its popularity seems based on its label and relatively low price (now $7.75 for 750mL).  Certainly, it has popularized the blending of Shiraz and Malbec.

Not surprisingly, our main supplier, Vincor-owned RJ Spagnols, introduced a Malbec Syrah blend from Argentina in January 2010 as part of its limited release program that year. Our initial orders for this blend were, well, so-so, but, then ... as these orders were bottled, customers immediately re-ordered. As others tasted this wine, more people made it ... and it quickly became our best-selling limited release wine ever!

Naturally, customers have been asking when this wine will return and, at last, it is back and in-stock at Bloor West Winery.

Now, once again, you can enjoy this full bodied blend that is fruit forward and approachable with balanced toasted vanilla flavours from Hungarian oak.

The wine hints of cherries and black current up front, with darker, richer notes of coffee, tobacco and licorice behind. Round and smooth with balanced tannins, this is a very easy drinking wine. Pair with grilled foods as well as heartier meat dishes from the oven.

A bargain that is virtually effortless...
well, at least for YOU!

Ask any of our regular customers why they return time and time again, and you would learn all about the tremendous value, experience and fun that on premise winemaking provides to them.

The very best on premise wines replicate those wines you’ll find in your local bottle store —
  •   They come from a single wine-producing region, or even from a single vineyard,
  •      They are a single varietal or are a true blend, and
  •      Red wnes are fermented on skins and require bottle ageing to reach their full potential.

The differences are clear as well — on premise made wines are largely free of tax, just as they have much fewer additives than commercial wine.

Saving all that tax money does require that you participate in the winemaking process - it’s the law - but your two visits will be easy and fun.

On your first visit, you select your wine and start the fermentation. Then, you leave all the intermediate steps to us.

Once your wine is ready, you return to bottle and label your wine.  We provide all the easy-to-use equipment, all the supplies and an organized work-space.

Always, your satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed.  Since I am shouldering all of the risk, my question to you is simple and clear: Which wines will you make today?
